The History of SMK Bunda Kandung Foundation
Our school has a long experience and quite a lot, which started with good intentions to educate the nation's children without exception.
Initially the name of our school was STM BUNDA KANDUNG, established in 1964, formerly located in a rented house located next to the Pasar Minggu train station.
Initiated by Drs. Azmi Fachruddin (the late died on August 14, 2001), and is supported by his wife, the late Mrs. Mardini Azmi, as well as from a group of young people from AUP/Akademi Usaha Perikanan (Academy of Fisheries Business, Department of Agriculture), who at that time were still students.
In the past, this school was founded only with the determination and fighting spirit of the pioneers, so it was not uncommon for teachers to be late paying their salaries, sometimes they were only paid with rice, and some did not even expect payment.
Coinciding with October 1, 1965, the Deed of Establishment of the Foundation was officially signed in front of Notary Syahrim Abdul Manan, No. 1 October 1, 1965, and updated through Notary Januar Hamid SH, No. 16 November 20, 1987, under the name YAYASAN PENDIDIKAN TEKNOLOGI BUNDA KANDUNG

The choice of the name Bunda Kandung is a symbol of love and education. The biological mother, everywhere has started to take care of her treatment while the embryo is still in the womb.
It means that the biological mother is the first educator. After the baby is born mor and more, the biological mother takes on the role of the main educator with great love, without discriminating against her child.
That philosophy is what we want to perpetuate in the name of the YAYASAN PENDIDIKAN TEKNOLOGI BUNDA KANDUNG
So Bunda Kandung is the first and foremost educator of her children with great affection.
In 1977 YPT Bunda Kandung received the Right to Use land belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture for the construction of the Bunda Kandung High School, which is located at Jl. Palapa Raya No. 3, Pasar Minggu at Agricultural Complex.
Submitted by Mr. Drs. Supangkat, as Head of the Equipment Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture, then the land was developed by the DKI Regional Government, in the 1978/1979 Fiscal Year
Until now, SMK BUNDA KANDUNG Vocational School has graduated more than 11,300 people spread across various job fields, and BUNDA KANDUNG Vocational School is still one of the Vocational Schools in South Jakarta that is of interest to the community, because it has relatively more complete facilities compared to other SMKs. as well as the existence of several companies that every year often offer job vacancies for graduates of SMK BUNDA KANDUNG.
In 2014, Bunda Kandung Vocational School received an A Grade Accreditation Status from the DKI Jakarta Provincial School Accreditation Board until now.
